I'm a slow learner. Optimizing seems to be just fiddling with the settings until you can get an optimal backtest result. How you apply this to real ("forward") settings, and which "base" settings to use is still a mystery to me. In any case there seems to be a lot more to it than just plugging...
I don't see how they could track profit limits or anything else. If they are not different settings, what is the point, and I doubt very much that any settings are that predictable. I have yet to find a winning one.
This is good (and I like the accent!). Still leaves questions though. First, this was fiddling with the backtester. How do you apply this to current settings?
Videos are better than nothing, but MUCH better would be a written version with screenshots. Same goes for the Galileo installation...
Thanks, Sanchay. Yesterday I removed all my positions from Navigator and deleted all the Charts, and replaced them with your last 5 Conservative settings. I let the computer run all night and this morning I had the following screen, showing no trades of the new positions but some from the...
I have uploaded the 5 Conservative settings to my demo account with Lots=0.01. Sanchay, if you want to help us newbies, here is the first problem: How to close all previous positions in MT5. This is not a straightforward task, as far as I can tell. I found a script for it by googling (here) and...
What exactly does one have to learn about MT5? I have learned how to plug Galileo into it and let it run, and I change Lots from 0 to .01 in order to minimize losses. I have used different amounts in my demo account, but why should that make a difference? Now I am using 1000 euros in the tester...
I am extremely irritated by the fact that many of my posts are censored ("awaiting moderation"). Please complain about this to the Galileo team, who should know that censorship is very poor business practice and they should change this stupid policy.
I just posted to the thread "Updated Winning Settings" but it has not appeared. Why do you do this ("awaiting moderation")? It is EXTREMELY IRRITATING! It seems that the Galileo team does NOT want its customers to communicate with each other. This is very poor business practice, and you should know.
I am just posting here to see if it appears. The post I just sent on this thread is "awaiting moderation." I wonder why. Is it because my backtesting results were negative?
Backtesting for the last Conservative settings, with 1000 Euro demo account since Nov. 1:
Bitcoin Horizon Tracker: No results
Golden Horizon Tracker: -54.58 at Lots 0 and Lots 0.01
Silver Star Navigator: -328.02 at Lots 0 and Lots 0.01
If these losses are "Conservative" I hate to think of what...
What does "keep them up to date"mean? I have about 9 different settings for XAUUSD, for example. If I use all of them I can't tell which one is responsible for which trades, unless I do as someone recommended and us different Lots (.01-.09) which is ok but the results are less comparable. Is it...
