Automate market trend analysis

Does anyone know if there is a better way to analyze the market trends to see what it is doing, going up down? Looking to see if there was a better way to set the settings to only do one way or the other; I hope this is making sense; the one video I watched showed looking at the market past to see the trend to determine what the market was doing to better aid in making a strategy. I was looking to see if anyone had a better way other that the manual way then the tester in MT4. Also is there a way to do this on the fly and use graphics cards to help AI/ML this process?
