Galileo FX does not work in tester of MT5 or life in stocks. Support Desk was unable to help. I have OANDA and want to trade stocks. Have the right stock-account . What to do ???

Hi Fritz, good day

The issue might be related to OANDA's specific configuration or restrictions on automated trading for stocks. Contact OANDA’s technical support to clarify if there are any limitations or required changes on their end.

If OANDA continues to cause issues, you may want to consider trying another broker that fully supports stock CFD trading via MT5. Brokers like IC Markets, FP Markets, or Pepperstone are known for broader CFD offerings and may provide better compatibility with Galileo FX.

Thank you for your reaction. I asked OANDA for a reaction and I think they blame MT5 for being unable to test Galileo FX settings for stocks/shares (not CFD's) in MT5 and being unable to trade them. Here's their reaction:
"I received information that it is possible to connect various robots to MT5, but you need to know their specifications. If you need API for the Galileo FX unfortunately, you won’t be able to connect it. Additionally, if the robot is not written in the MT5 language (MQL5), you won't be able to connect it either.
I hope this answers your question."
This is getting almost too complicated for me...

The Galileo FX EA works well on stocks as well. And strategy tester also works for backtesting on Stocks. Here can be a few MetaTrader 5 issues that could be happening:
1. Make sure you have the latest build of MetaTrader 5, you can check for updates using Help > Check for Updates; Help > About will show you your build version make sure its not build 4524 (this build is having issues with strategy tester)
2. Make sure you are using correct stoploss and take profit, some brokers do not permit too tight take profit or stop loss.

One option is to change broker?

Hi Fritz, good day

I'm also looking for the best broker. So far Pepperstone seems best for me in Germany (only one regulated by BaFin, which means they take out the tax for me instead of making you do it yourself at the end of the year. (Not sure if that is really an advantage. IC Markets does not accept German traders. FP Markets seems ok but I prefer to stay with broker established here in Germany. CMC Markets only has MT4. There are lots of brokers, but I think I'll stay with Pepperstone at least until I learn how to use MT5, which is a pretty steep learning curve. That's the main reason I'm in this forum -- aside from questions about Galileo, which I also have. They do respond but I suspect they are overwhelmed with questions so I'm hoping to get more responses here.

Joeboy/Noah,
I just learned from Sanchay that the problem might be in MT5 Platform build 4524 (last release). Digging deeper in on the MT5 forum I found there are more problems with this verion of MT5. Advised is to use MT5 Platform build 4410 (previous release), obtained from your broker. So changing broker won't solve the problem of not trading or not testing, it's in the MT5-version. I have informed my broker (OANDA) and asked for a download of MT5 Platform build 4410. Hope they can help...

Glad i could help, most of the brokers have fixed this issue as of my knowledge with build number 4540. So you must be able to solve your issue as well.
