1. Use Parallels Desktop to Run Windows on Mac

Parallels Desktop is a popular virtualization software that allows you to run Windows applications on your Mac without rebooting. This method is straightforward and integrates well with macOS.

Steps:

  1. Install Parallels Desktop: Purchase and download Parallels Desktop from the official site.
  2. Install Windows: Once Parallels is installed, set up a Windows virtual machine (VM) by following the prompts. You will need a valid Windows license to complete the installation.
  3. Download MetaTrader: Open the Windows environment within Parallels and download MetaTrader 4 or 5 from your broker’s website.
  4. Install Galileo FX: After MetaTrader is set up, install Galileo FX by following the same steps as you would on a Windows PC (downloading the Galileo FX files and attaching them to MetaTrader).
  5. Activate AutoTrading: Load Galileo FX on your MetaTrader chart, configure the settings, and enable AutoTrading to begin automated trading.

2. Use Boot Camp to Dual-Boot Windows on Mac

Boot Camp is Apple’s built-in utility that allows you to install and run Windows on your Mac in a dual-boot setup. This method requires you to reboot into Windows whenever you want to trade.

Steps:

  1. Open Boot Camp Assistant: Go to Applications > Utilities > Boot Camp Assistant on your Mac.
  2. Install Windows: Follow the instructions to install Windows. You will need a Windows installation file (ISO) and a valid Windows license.
  3. Switch to Windows: After the installation is complete, you can choose to boot into Windows by restarting your Mac and holding down the Option key during startup.
  4. Download MetaTrader: Once in Windows, download and install MetaTrader from your broker's website.
  5. Install Galileo FX: Download and install Galileo FX in MetaTrader, configure the settings, and enable automated trading.

3. Use Wine or PlayOnMac to Run MetaTrader on Mac

Wine is a free compatibility layer that allows you to run Windows applications on macOS without installing Windows itself. PlayOnMac is a user-friendly version of Wine.

Steps:

  1. Install PlayOnMac: Download and install PlayOnMac from its official website.
  2. Install MetaTrader: After setting up PlayOnMac, use it to install MetaTrader 4 or 5 by following the prompts.
  3. Install Galileo FX: Once MetaTrader is running, install Galileo FX by downloading the files and attaching them to your MetaTrader instance.
  4. Enable AutoTrading: After installation, configure your Galileo FX settings and start automated trading.

Hi - it seems that MT has a Mac version of their product (https://www.metatrader5.com/en/download) is that not supported? Any reason you can't install on the native mac app? Thanks

Unfortunately, this isn’t possible due to MetaTrader’s limitations, which are outside our control. When they decide to fix this, we’ll be ready to jump on the opportunity to bring Galileo FX to native Mac MetaTrader. We’ve asked them multiple times, but they seem hesitant to integrate automated trading software on Mac, likely because it’s more technically challenging compared to Windows.
