Hello Guys,

I'm Joe currently living in Japan and new to the team. よろしくお願いいたします。

HOWDY!

Just Downloaded the GALILEO FX PRO software.
Decided to chime into the forum prior to moving forward.

Any tips or advice on performance or glitches while using Galileo.....?
Input from the resident experts from the community would be greatly appreciated....

Any issues with investment platforms after installation?
Advice on trading strategies or weekly performance percentages would also be appreciated.

Cordially,

Cordially,
You can try and use the presets Vinz posting every week and tweak it to your liking, just remember to test it first on a demo account

If there's anything we can assist you with don't hesitate to ask.

I'm only nine hours into the journey, I've scheduled a support session since I didn't see any trades happen in demo today. One thing I'm very curious about is getting an account that isn't affected by FIFO (I read a thread on this earlier), how does one setup an account outside of the US if that's where I live?

I think there are regulated brokers in the US which isn't affected by FIFO rules, Did you turn on Algo trading option?

I've been "trading" on Robinhood for several years, but not having too much success. (I tend to wait too long before selling.)
I figure having some AI (bots with better knowledge) help me out is a good thing. Read an article about galileofx and decided to jump in.

I understand how frustrating it can be to wait too long before selling and not see the success you were hoping for. Many traders face similar challenges. It's great to see you're open to leveraging AI and bots to enhance your trading strategy.

If you have any questions or need further assistance as you get started, feel free to reach out. You're not alone in this journey, and I'm here to help.

Hi!
I'm AJ from the USofA.
Software engineer and writer.
I'm not new to trading... I was a long time user of TDAmeritrade's thinkorswim platform and am so sad that they're now Scwab. I used to trade mostly Futures. I haven't really done much in the last few years. Read about GalileoFX and took the plunge and got Pro...

New to Forex. Just set up an account last with with OANDA...but after reading many forum posts here and reading about FIFO... maybe I want to go with Forex.com? I've just been demo trading for the last two weeks. I'm also new to MT4 and MT5 (and installed both on my computer) -- but I think I've been figuring them out. The strategy tester is fun.

I would still love to trade Futures with GalileoFX... not sure how to go about finding the right broker that would work with MT for futures. I thought I could with my Schwab account, but it looks like no...

That's about it. Happy to be here!

Hi Aj, welcome to the club. "I would still love to trade Futures with GalileoFX" maybe you could post a thread about this on Feature Request

Thanks!
I'm not sure that's a feature request... but more a request for a thread (maybe there is one??) on sharing info/suggestions for different potential brokers? I was under the impression that GalileoFX was agnostic to the stuff that's being traded... it's all about what a broker allows....

Hi all,

New here to Galileo, but not new to trading. Used traditional platforms like TD for about 20 years, excited to get into Forex and leverage automation.

Got a couple rudimentary questions hoping someone answer:

1) The software can trade 24x7, but will it only work and execute trades if I am logged into the MT5 platform and have it actively open/running on a computer? For example, if I close the application or shut down, will trading stop? If trading is truly always-active, how do you stop trading then?

2) When placing the Galileo Expert Advisor on a chart and then configuring the settings, what setting tells the software what types of trades to place? For example, if I wanted to limit risk and avoid Short Selling altogether, how do you tell the software not to Short Sell and only place 'Buy' trades?

When choosing the timeframe it is on your Metatrader task bar, or right click on any chart in Metatrader 5 then select timeframe from the dropbox that will appear.

Also on Metatrader 4 you have the option to choose short only or long only trades with Galileo FX, but since you were utilizing Metatrader 5, I would suggest inputting a higher number of consecutive bullish signals if you don't want the bot to enter a sell if your bias is uptrend, then vice versa

For detailed explanation on consecutive signals kindly refer to this article:

Hey Joe,

I see now that the times are tied to the charts themselves - I thought it needed to be defined on the EA's configuration settings. Thanks for that information.

I applied the EA to an H4 EUR/USD chart, but it doesn't seem to be executing trades. I made sure to tick the box on the Common tab for Allow Algo, and at the top of MT5 I toggled the button so that Algo trading is enabled. Is that all that's needed to kickstart the EA?

I have a few more questions:

  • What I'm looking for now is how often can we expect the EA to react and make trades? Is it all based on the timing of the chart (i.e. D1, W1, H1, H4, etc) ?
  • Can you elaborate on where to deny/prevent Short Selling? I don't see that anywhere and that is against my trading strategy so I want to make sure that's completely disallowed.
  • Lastly, what are all of these other settings on the EA?

MT4 is the one who allows you to choose Shorts/Longs only. MT5 does it automatically for you!
